How Tarot Found Me
My introduction to Tarot occurred at a spiritual event in 2021. I had initially scheduled a reading that was cancelled, and I recall feeling annoyed when it was substituted with a tarot reading instead.
How is it possible for a deck of cards to interpret or communicate with the spirits that are present around me?
During my Tarot reading session, I met with a woman named Titania Fae. She advised me to place the cards on my solar plexus and take deep breaths to infuse my energy into the cards. I then shuffled the deck and selected 10 cards.
My uncertainty quickly passed, and I settled comfortably into my chair as Titania began accurately describing my life.
I felt acknowledged, comforted that I was on the right path towards my goals, and provided with a chance to reflect on my life from an outsider's perspective to gain some insight.
After finishing the reading, Titania mentioned an upcoming online Tarot course that she would be teaching the next month. Although she was able to connect to the spirits around me she assured me that I would be able to use the cards effectively by infusing my energy into them and using them as a wellbeing tool.
Following Tiatnia's excellent Tarot course, I began incorporating tarot cards into my interactions with clients. I frequently delve into their lives, emotions, and future directions. Through the cards, my clients gain insight into their behaviour in various situations, enabling them to take responsibility, regain control over their emotions or circumstances, and establish boundaries or make decisions that benefit them.
Many of my hair clients appreciate my Tarot readings and are enthusiastic about exploring the interpretations of each card further.
There are so many Cards how do I pick a deck?
To begin using Tarot for well-being, I recommend starting with the renowned Rider-Waite deck. There are various versions available, so take your time choosing, although in my experience, the Tarot cards that are meant for you will find their way to you.
Quick view of the cards
There are 72 cards in a typical Tarot deck. It's remarkable how the right card always shows up just when you require its guidance.
The initial 21 cards are known as the Major Arcana, which are associated with significant life occurrences. They provide insights into our conduct and mindset, aiding us in returning to a more positive energy state. By raising awareness and holding us responsible for our actions, they assist us in overcoming the obstacles that lead to stagnation and being stuck. They also let us know when we are on the correct path.
The rest of the deck are called the Minor Arcana and these cards reflect our everyday trials and tribulations.
But Tarot cards can be bad cant they?
Occasionally, we may draw a card that is perceived as negative or distressing. However, this does not necessarily indicate that we will experience a negative outcome. We always have the power to shape our own destinies, even though we may occasionally overlook this fact. It's important to remember that tarot cards do not dictate how we will respond to a situation they mearly remind us of where we are heading..
The Death card, for example, is commonly seen as negative but it actually signifies a necessary process of removing things that no longer serve you.
When this card appears, it indicates a time of significant change where you may need to let go of elements in your life that do not align with your values or perspective.
This period may be challenging as you struggle to cling onto what is no longer beneficial.
Being in a state of comprehension and being willing to release the negative aspects of your life to observe and let go of what is detrimental to you, you will discover that the phase of "death" is much less distressing and can actually be rather exciting.
As you work towards goals or a life that nurtures your heart and soul, you will experience a sense of lightness. This process helps to shift you away from the fight or flight mode that we frequently find ourselves in. I will talk more of fight or flight mode over the next few weeks.
So as you can see the Tarot card can be used for much more than predicting your life or conversing with spirits. I love Tarot for its ability to serve as a tool for wellbeing. It offers a unique blend of meditation, introspection, and storytelling, enhancing my mental well-being by fostering a deeper understanding of myself and providing a space for reflection.
